The world's carbon footprint is constantly growing and has a negative impact on the environment. How?
CO2 emissions
In 2021, global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions reached their highest level in history at 36.3 billion tons. This was due to the global economy recovering from the COVID-19 crisis and relying heavily on coal.
Global warming
Global warming has increased by approximately 1.0 °C above pre-industrial levels. If it continues to increase at the current rate, it could reach 1.5°C between 2030 and 2052.
Consequences
Climate change has negative consequences such as sea level rise, ecosystem disruption, species extinction, acidification and extreme weather events.
What Groove does to face the problem above.
The carbon footprint can be measured and reduced. To do so, it is important to analyze individual lifestyles and take actions to mitigate the environmental impact. Some factors that contribute to the carbon footprint are: The burning of fossil fuels, Deforestation, Intensive agriculture, Production and consumption of goods, Inadequate waste management.
We believe if we implement healthy eating, generate sustainable practices in agriculture and reduce animal abuse, we can contribute to the reduction of our carbon footprint.
It is not necessary to be completely vegan, but small changes are important for the environment.
Another way we can contribute to building a more sustainable and equal world is that we have a diverse team. As an immigrant family, we believe in opportunities for everyone.
